Happy New Year and Welcome back to 2025!
We hope that you had a lovely Christmas Break! Your children have settled back into school smoothly and are already enjoying being back in school. Our Spring topic this term is ‘A Little Place Called Wales’; a paper copy of the skills letter will be sent out this week explaining some of the skills and activities planned for this topic – look out for it!
Important Information
*Please bring reading books/bags and green news books into school on a Monday. Please make sure reading books and records are in a reading bag or folder. Your child reads every day during ‘Read Write Inc’ sessions and weekly with the Class Teacher and Teaching Assistants on a Monday. A new book will be sent home when we feel your child is ready for a new book.
*Dojo: Our Class Dojo page is up and running as it was last year. Check this regularly as we may communicate with each other on here every day.
*Snack time: Snack money is £1 each week or 20p a day. You can pay larger sums if it helps and we will keep it in a safe place for your child to have each day. If your child does not pay we will unfortunately not be able to supply it ourselves. If you would prefer to send in your own snack that is fine, as I know some children do not enjoy the healthy school choices. This can be crackers, crisps, cereal bars, biscuits, popcorn etc.
*Cookery: Cookery money is £5 for each half term. No child will be left out, but I please ask you send this in to cover the costs or future lessons may have to be cancelled.
*Outdoor Learning: Focused outdoor learning will be part of our planning but we will be using the outdoors as often as we can for other things like PE, Well-being, reading etc. Please send in wellies if we do not already have a pair.
*Library visits: A very exciting weekly visit! We will be visiting Trallwn library every week. This will be every Tuesday and your child will borrow a book to enjoy at home. Please return this the following Tuesday.
*A local community walk will take place twice every half term. We will inform you of them a week in advance.
*PE: PE is on a Monday. The children will need shorts/joggers, a t-shirt and trainers. Kits must be worn to school so they do not need to change. Velcro is also better than laces.
*Music therapy and sensory PE takes place every week.
*If your child is ill or absent from school, then please inform the school on the first day of absence or message me on Dojo.
If you have any questions or queries then please speak to a member of staff who will be happy to help you. We are always here to have a chat with you and to help you and your child.
