Team Wales Poetry Competition

They’ve recently teamed up with the Urdd to give schools the chance of winning £500 worth of sports equipment! This is an exciting opportunity and entries are open until Friday 21st February.

Competiton Guidelines
- The competition is open to Primary and Secondary pupils
- Entries must be from pupils attending schools in Wales
- Individual entry, group or a class entry is allowed
- The entry can be in English, Welsh or Billingual
- The poem must be original and unpublished
- Only one submission per person, group or class
- The theme of the Poem must be ‘Team Wales’ (Commonwealth Games)
- Send your entry via email or post (details below)
- Deadline Friday 21st February 2020 5pm
Prize
- £500 of School sports equipment for the winning entry
- The winner’s school will receive the sports equipment
- The equipment needed will be chosen by the school
- Coaching session for the school by a Commonwealth athlete
- Trophy for the winning entry
- The poem will be revealed at the Commonwealth Day Wales celebration on March 9 2020
Terms and Conditions
- By submitting the poem you have consent from your parents/guardians to take part in the competition.
- You allow Commonwealth Games Wales to publish your poem on Social Media and use at Team Wales events
For the winning poems:
- The winning author’(s) can be mentioned by name, subject to parental/guardian consent
- For the teachers, please inform us if you do not want the school name to be mentioned in the campaign
