‘Food and Fun’ School Holiday Enrichment Programme

‘Working together to help schools nourish children, promote healthy living and provide social learning experiences during the school holidays’

What is SHEP?

SHEP is a school-based education programme that provides food and nutrition education, physical activity, enrichment sessions and healthy meals to children in areas of social deprivation during the school summer holidays. Food and Fun is the brand identity used at local level to promote schemes to children and families.

SHEP at Trallwn Primary School

The programme runs from Monday to Thursday for 3 weeks in August. Children will arrive on site at 9am where they will enjoy a healthy breakfast with their friends. This is followed by three sessions of activities ranging from sports, fitness, nutrition and enrichment activities.  Sessions are provided by highly trained school staff as well has a carefully selected range of outside providers. Children will then enjoy a healthy lunch before being collected at 1pm.

If your child is attending please provide them with:

• suitable clothing to enjoy physical activities in e.g. trainers, shorts and t-shirt
• a water bottle
• sun hat
• sun cream
• any medication such as asthma pumps

Please not you must apply sun cream to your child or they must be able to do this independently.

Please drop off and collect your child from the Breakfast Club door.
